What is GRE ?

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States. The GRE is owned and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The test was ddesigned to predict success in graduate school, the exam is composed of a Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytical section, each scored on a scale of 200 to 800.

Disadvantages of GRE

Several analysis of the GRE has shown that the GRE does not accurately assess a test-taker’s full potentials for achievement in scholastic, professional, or personal endeavors. GRE has also been shown to  limit access to graduate school for many individuals, especially women, students of color, and non-traditional applicants.

Despite its primary purpose of predicting success in graduate school, a GRE score adds little useful information to a student’s application – the test’s own developer admits that undergraduate college grades do a better job of forecasting graduate achievement than the GRE.

What Are The Types of Online MPH Program GRE Requirements

There are 3 categories of online MPH programs based on their RE requirements.

First Category- The  universities which require applicants to submit their GRE scores with no exceptions. These universities often insist that students cannot enroll until test scores are received and do not offer substitutions or waivers during the process.

Second Category – The Universities which offer GRE waivers, typically to students that have already completed a master’s or doctoral degree within the U.S.

Third Category – This is the most liberal category, they do not include the GRE requirement within their admissions requirements. However, schools that do not require applicants to submit their GRE scores may have stricter requirements for undergraduate GPA, work experience, or recommendations.
