Did Olay Discontinue Quench Body Lotion?

Yes, the original Ola Quench Body Lotions has been repackaged with a new formulation that has got users fuming. A user wrote “When I found that my original Olay Quench Ultra Moisture had changed I freaked out! I thought that maybe they had just changed the bottle…but this is not the lotion I have been using for the past few years. It has a cocoa butter smell that was not present in the other lotion. I also tried the “Olay Quench” lotion which didn’t smell the same, did not moisturize as well, and didn’t have the shimmer. Needless to say, I’m going to hunt down any store that might still have the old versions and buy them out before it’s too late. I wish they would go back to the original”.

Another user wrote: “I have been using the Quench products for 15 years. In addition to the product itself, I loved the delicate fragrance. Just last week I purchased a new bottle of Olay Age Defy. The store was out of Quench. The fragrance of this item is terrible, offensive. After reading reviews from a wide range of dates & cities, I don’t understand how you could say that the formula has not changed. It smells awful. I am so disappointed. This scent is a deal-breaker. I hope your company corrects the problem”.

In their response, Olay stated that they are sorry to hear that people were disappointed with the scent of their Quench Body Lotion. They stated that it is possible that the bottles purchased are past their shelf life or have been exposed to extreme temperatures. We stand behind our products and we’d like to know more. Quality moisturizers can help soothe and repair dry, itchy, and irritated skin. Moisturizer is an essential piece of any skincare routine. It helps maintain your skin’s moisture barrier and protects your skin from environmental damage.

The skin on your face, ears, neck, and chest are very sensitive to environmental changes and are the most frequent areas of the body known to develop skin cancer. These areas of skin also shed cells more rapidly than other parts of the body and therefore need moisture to repair themselves, which allows for younger skin cells to rise to the surface. Also, the massaging effect that is used when applying lotion helps stimulate blood circulation and new cell generation.

If you’re experiencing dry or dull skin, you can really benefit from a daily lightweight moisturizer that’s jam-packed with hydrating ingredients, like niacinamide or hyaluronic acid.

If you have severely dry skin, flaking, eczema, or if you live in a cold climate, you might want to opt for a thicker formula designed for your specific skin concerns. Moisturizing every day can reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are harmful to the skin and cause common skin conditions like acne.
