Enhertu (Fam-trastuzumab deruxtecan-nxki) is a FDA approved chemo drug (chemotherapy) but it is also a targeted therapy anti-cancer drug. Enhertu fights cancer in two ways: the antibody (trastuzumab) part is designed to find and attach to the HER2 receptor on cancer cells.
Enhertu can be used to treat people diagnosed with metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer that has been previously treated with at least two anti-HER2 medicines. Enhertu also can be used to treat HER2-positive breast cancer that can’t be removed with surgery.
